Ah! My Goddess

Ah! My Goddess (Aa ああっ女神さまっ! Megami-sama) is a manga and anime work of Kosuke Fujishima. The manga began from 1988. Five episode OVA produced in 1991 by the AIC. TV series Adventures of Mini-Goddess, in production in 1998, as part of the omnibus show Anime Complex on WOWOW. A movie was produced in 2001. In January 2005 a new anime series began broadcasting in Japan.

Sinopsis :

Ah! My Goddess is about Keiichi Morisato (森 里 萤一 Morisato Kei'ichi) a student who is very fond of motorcycles call directly to the Goddess Relief Office. Then when Keiichi will deliver orders, suddenly appearing beautiful goddess Belldandy (ベルダンディー Berudandī) before him, offering him a single request. With no serious, Keiichi asks Belldandy to accompany him forever, and his request materialize unexpectedly. The situation becomes more complicated when the sister Belldandy, Urd (ウルド Urudo) and his sister Skuld (スクルド Sukurudo), moved down with them.

Settings :

The Oh My Goddess ! the universe is a loose style in Celtic/ Norse Mythology , the various names and concepts are recycled for humor. Three world exist in the universe of Oh My Goddess : Heaven, Hell, and Earth. Heaven is the realm of All Mighty and goddesses, Hell is the Hild field and demons, and Earth is the human nature . Reality is controlled by a computer system that is very large and complex, named Yggdrasil.

Each goddess is assigned Class, Category, and Restrictions. Class indicates power and skill in performing pure magic . First Class goddesses are held to stricter standards regarding the prohibition to lie . There are also three categories : Administration, Commercial ( Field ), and Special Duty. Restrictions are limited and finite indicate the limits of permitted actions. Goddess can be punished for dereliction of duty and their license may be suspended for a while. A goddess using her powers during suspension will have her license permanently revoked.Belldandy is a Goddess First Class, Second Category, limited license Urd is a Goddess Second Class , First Category, Limited License. Skuld is a Goddess Second Class, First Category, Limited License. Dewi also use a power strip, usually in the form of jewelry.

The goal goddess ' is to bring happiness to all those around them . Toward that end, Heaven has created the Goddess Technical Helpline ( also called Goddess Relief Agency ), designed to bring happiness to the people of Earth , especially those with great virtue but terrible misfortune. A competing institution named the Earth Assistance Center, also managed by goddesses.In most scenarios, a goddess appears before one that the system has deemed worthy and give him or one of his wishes. The desire to be approved by the system , after which the contract is made between the human and the goddess and stored on the Yggdrasil system as a file . Desire contract file is protected by a passcode known Goddess.As demons work toward the end , the total happiness on Earth must remain in balance. Heaven and Hell strictly abide by an agreement to work through contracts and never kill each other.

Demons have class restrictions and license the same, and not familiar with the angels. A seal exists between the demon world and Earth, named the Gate to the Netherworld. It "created by the gods and can only be solved by an instrument of the gods. Accordingly, demons require a catalyst to manifest on Earth. Devils have a system similar to Yggdrasil, named Nidhogg. Both demons and goddesses have the power to seal beings away. demons also operate in a manner similar to the goddess by creating contracts with humans and offering them want , but often at the price.

A goddess does not have an angel automatically, but receives one in egg form. When the power mature, the eggs hatch into an angel, becoming a lifetime angels companion.The always adhere to the goddess, being a reflection of the inner self goddess '.

Other creatures that exist in many areas of the earth that spirits are responsible for almost every aspect of life . These include the spirits of Money, Wind, Engine and such. More specific entities include Earth spirits, which are guardians over a specific area of land . Morgan le Fay, the villain of the film, probably a high ranking Earth spirit ( or that of another dimension, but it is less likely because of the tragic love story with a human must have happened on Earth ) who showed great strength fighting Belldandy and Urd, even though her strength is less strong than that of the goddess level .

Production :

Before starting work on Oh My Goddess ! Kosuke Fujishima created the manga You're Under Arrest !. Miyuki Kobayakawa, one of your main characters in Catching !, Was featured as a goddess character in a four -panel gag strip in manga.While precise relationship between this character and the early goddess Oh My Goddess ! series is unclear, there are suggestions that Oh My Goddess ! can be seen as a series of spin - offs. Regardless of origin, the concept of a goddess " as a job " interested Fujishima, leading to the first appearance of the Oh My Goddess ! series in the September 1988 issue of the magazine Afternoon.

Soundtrack :

Video Games :

An adventure game titled Aa! Megami -sama! for the NEC PC - 9801 was released in 1993 by Banpresto. Enhanced port was later released in 1997 for PC - FX which added voice and other improvements.

A Dreamcast quiz game called Quiz : Ah ! My Goddess - Stay With Battle Wings was released in August 1998 for the Sega Dreamcast. The player plays as Keiichi Morisato answer questions posed by characters from the anime / manga like Belldandy, Skuld, Urd, Peorth and Lind.

In February 2007 an Ah ! My Goddess game developed by Marvelous Interactive was released in Japan for the PlayStation 2. The game was only released in Japan and was released in 2 editions , the limited edition (also known as the " Holy Box " edition) and the regular DVD edition. There are currently no plans for the game to be licensed and translated into English.
